Leah Kooma – Managing Director MultiChoice Zambia
The Zambia National Gender Policy of Women outlines that there should be more women participating in key decision-making positions, in the public and private sectors. MultiChoice Zambia is living by this policy as the organization has more women in decision-making positions and currently, its management team consisting of 70% women, thereby breaking the bias in society. It symbolizes the fact that women too can lead in various positions in our society.
MultiChoice Zambia Managing Director, Mrs. Leah Kooma, has worked hard to get to her current position. She has broken the bias and has risen above different challenges that have made her the woman she is today. This year, the 2022 theme for Women’s Day is Breaking the Bias, and this theme is truly close to Leah’s heart as she has broken the norm and bias in society to become a leader in a multinational organization like MultiChoice.
Reflecting on her career and growth which spans over 19 years, Leah says “as a woman, holding the position of Managing Director at MultiChoice Zambia is emblematic to every woman out there, it entails that it is possible for you to dream, rise and be whatever you want to be, as long as you work hard and you never give up.”
